I love to paint and am filled with joy as I capture and share my inspired vision of this beautiful, peaceful, powerful and mysterious world. Life's passion and challenges are represented with vibrant colors and deep contrast in my paintings.
In quiet contemplation of the ordinary, I discover extraordinary designs, textures and colors. I choose my subjects with respect for a moment in time I wish to share.
It is with delight and my very best spirit, I paint!

| Barbara
J. Pafume
BIOGRAPHY
Barbara is an award winning artist and signature member of the Vermont Watercolor Society. She studied at the Art Institute in Chicago and at Silvermine Guild in Connecticut. She developed her realistic style over the years to capture the dramatic and poignant moments in life that inspire her. By using deep colors and strong contrast, she captures the light and transforms everyday scenes into memorable moments of beauty, drama and passion.
For over 40 years, Barbara has conducted workshops and taught classes in her studio and for several public and private art organizations in Vermont, Illinois, Connecticut, Georgia and Maine. She frequently has been invited to speak on her research in creativity to many businesses, as well as private and non-profit organizations. Although she now exhibits mostly watercolors, she also paints and teaches oil, acrylic, pastel and drawing to all ages.
She has had many solo exhibitions and her work is in public and private collections in Vermont, across the United States and in Europe. She has won many awards for her paintings. Her home and studio is in the quiet countryside of Fairfax, VT.
North Light Books published two of her paintings, "Cathedral" and "Ridge Light" in the beautiful hardcover book titled Splash
7, A Celebration of Light, The Best in Watercolor. She was the only Vermont artist and one of 75 international artists whose work was chosen for the collection.
American Artist Watercolor magazine featured an article about Barbara's teaching style, her workshops and her paintings and included one of her demonstrations. The article focused on her Moonlight
in Vermont Workshops, where she teaches students to capture the magic of nocturnes. Barbara's work has appeared in many other national, regional and local publications. Several of her paintings have also been reproduced as greeting cards for Treehouse
Originals, another branch of Four Seasons Studios.
Barbara conducts Painting Workshops of Vermont, where she offers artists 3 & 5-day painting workshops in beautiful, scenic Fairfax, as well as at several beautiful country inns all across Vermont.
Please visit Barbara's website galleries to view her paintings, prints and to find further information about her workshops and classes. Call or email for an appointment if you would like to visit her at Four Seasons Studios in Fairfax. |
