PAINTING YOUR WAY
SOUTHERN VERMONT ART CENTER, MANCHESTER, VERMONT
Barbara's classes are the only ones that Southern Vermont Art Center offers on a sustained, weekly basis throughout the summer. Her 8 week course offers students the continuity that not only inspires creativity through structured lessons but allows artists time to practice and experiment with new techniques. Each class begins with a creativity exercise to focus artistic attention, followed by a structured lesson on the important elements of a successful painting. She teaches how to use composition, color, perspective, balance, design and value relationship to create dramatic paintings in watercolor, oil, acrylic or pastel – your choice! She also emphasizes the importance of fun, play and laughter to the creative process! The strategies and information Barbara teaches will help you to find success whether you choose a realistic, impressionistic or abstract style of expression and representation. She does demonstrations on an individual basis, upon request and will never touch your painting to do so. In this class, you may expect to learn much, work hard, laugh and have a great time! ARTISTIC DISCOVERIES IN NATURE
Join us for a three hour, leisurely walk designed to inspire your creative spirit! Learn to see with an artist's eye. If you choose to do so, record your observations with a sketch or a poem or simply enjoy our delightful walk as we share new sights, sounds, textures and the wonderful open-air fragrance of a beautiful Vermont morning. No prior artistic experience necessary! We will end our walk back at the Waitsfield Inn, where we will share lunch and our thoughts and reactions from our walk. Vermont artist, Barbara J. Pafume will be your guide. This is a family activity for the Festival of the Great Outdoors!
Workshop Fee (including lunch):  $20/person or $50/family

Join her as she inspires and teaches you to see, experience and paint enchantingly beautiful fall scenes!
